Auld Reekie Reinvented:
From Alleys to Arthur’s Seat

“Auld Reekie” (Scots for ‘Old Smokey’) became a seventeenth-century nickname for Scotland’s capital, which was obscured by smog and pollution. Edinburgh still occupies the imagination as a city both enchanting and wild, possessing a haunted history and a hopeful future. Scottish artist MR.J has captured the mystery and duality of the city as a beacon for love as well as despair. Using the lens of historical artists, MR.J has wandered the city he knows well, reinventing iconic landmarks and hidden corners alike with wit and a keen eye for colour.

All artworks displayed at the exhibition are originals and are available for purchase.
