Calton Hill provides visitors with spectacular views of the elegance and atmosphere of Edinburgh. The city offers an ever-changing vista with contrasting weather conditions and astonishing cloud formations.
 
Artist James McNeil Whistler (1835-1903) was a genius at depicting nocturnal scenes. In this work, Mr.Jhas used the same muted tones and limited palette to create an atmosphere of eternal peace.
